Perfect (cape) weather

I was in California last week, camping at the beach in Carlsbad. Somehow it decided to get really cold in Utah and even snow– so I enjoyed telling people back home that we were experiencing perfect weather (70s, a little breezy, mostly sunny, etc…).

However, while I described it as “perfect weather”… Shawn described it just a little more articulately. Kate and I were sitting on the beach Thursday afternoon when we saw Shawn approaching from a distance. It looked like he had his beach towel tucked into his shirt collar… and he did. Apparently he had been headed down to the beach holding his towel in such a way that the wind would catch it like a cape, at which point he decided to turn it into a cape, it was awesome. When he arrived where Kate and I were sitting, he exclaimed:

“Man, this is perfect cape weather!”

  1. I’m going to have to post the picture of the three of you (you, Shawn, Kato) with your capes blowing in the wind as you walk down the beach. That was classic. *sigh* Ahhh…the beach.
