Dude… that was like… a Jedi moment.

self-portrait-bw_jedi.jpgI thought I’d flesh out a piece of a dream I had last night (probably this morning since I actually remember some of it.)

There was an elevator, and it wasn’t in a building as much as it seemed to go between different levels of a city. Something bad had happened and it seemed that the lower level had been silenced. You could no longer hear the sound of children playing or other noises.

I took the elevator down to that level and peered out of the doors to see… indeed, the silence was eery. Next thing I know, a Lion appears from around a corner in the distance and looks straight at me, then begins to run at me. Afriad, I retreated inside the elevator and frantically looked for the button to make the doors close sooner than normal. They wouldn’t close fast enough, and the lion got to me.

The lion pounced and had his mouth around my arm, and instantly I turned from fear and panic to a sort of meditative state, a feeling of soothing peace. No sooner did I change how I felt, the Lion changed from attacking to just being tame– no longer a predator but more like a household pet. Almost as if I’d worked some Jedi mind-trick magic on him.

Sometimes i wonder if dreams have meaning. I mostly figure my dreams are bizarre enough that they don’t mean anything. But just for fun, I looked up “lions” in a “dream dictionary“, and the latter part of the listing under lions dealt specifically with being attacked by a lion in your dream:

To
dream that you are attacked by a lion, indicates that you have many
obstacles to overcome. You must resist the force that is driving you to
self-destruction.

So to overcome obstacles just requires a shift in your thinking and feeling, huh? I wonder if the dream dictionary has “jedi mind tricks” in there… because it really was like yoda just closing his eyes and breathing, hehe.

  1. THat turned out to be quite the inspiring dream! I have totally found for myself, that my thoughts rule my actions more than I realize. It’s not always easy to shift my thinking (and as a result, my feeling) and I don’t always do it. But the times I have made conscious efforts in this area, I found it really does WORK! Cool dream, CArm! Thanks for sharing 🙂 You’re amazing!
