Gearin up for Trilogy Tuesday, less than 2 weeks away now….
Hehehe… I’ve meant to post these for a long time. This scene where Gandalf and co. arrive at the Golden Hall and exorcise Theoden is by far my favorite scene from the Two Towers, and I can’t help but laugh every time I see this scene now. I’d buy more DVDs if they just ditched the spanish subtitles and subbed in Engrish subtitles instead. Click the link at the bottom for all the Engrish subtitles. These will be especially funny if you know what is actually said in this scene as opposed to what the subtitles say.
My absolute favorite is Gandalf saying “the thing is could you remeber the roads strength better if the grass you saw.”
instead of
“Your fingers would remember their old strength better, if they grasped your sword. ”

These are funny Sloanie, probably less so to people who don’t know what they’re saying, but funny just the same malu!
Hehe, my favorite “engrish” subtitle of that whole movie was when the orc tries to say “go, squeal, noone can save you now”…..if you can recall what the engrish subtitle said…..hehe
i understand that english is difficult to make out for many foreigners. i get it. but SOLOMON? solomon isn’t a character in the movie. but SARUMAN is. they’ve GOT to know they screw up the l’s and r’s. if i knew i had a certain weakness (a “known known” for you rumsfeld-ites), then i think i would be extra sensitive to that mistake. also, you’d think they could at least look up the characters’ names in a book… or, i know… ONLINE!!!
I can’t wait for Trilogy Tuesday action. We bought the extended TTT for christmas but when I went to watch it the wife told me under no circumstance will I be opening that movie before christmas. I told her that to fully enjoy the trilogy tuesday experience I needed to preview the extended two towers so that I could watch for things that I missed when I saw it on the big screen. She didn’t buy it.

hey jake, this may not be the appropriate forum to share this, but i found a quote i heard dr. kim say just before i came home and wrote it down on a card and stuck it in my scrap book. i found it the other day. it was one of those idioms he thought was so popular in america… here goes:
“I’m too tired to scratch my ass.” you know what i mean, right? wink wink..
Hahah!!!!! Ahhhhh the Kim memories. Of course its appropriate Josh! Yeah he always had some dumb saying that was supposedly “all the rage” in America. I remember numerous occasions when we would teach him incorrect meaning for phrases. It was so hilarious to listen to him use them in conversations. The only drawback was remembering what we’d told him when we saw him again and he was using them on us! I wish I could remember some of the examples.
oh, i got one. mcclelland and i taught him to say “making out with my patients” instead of “making my rounds.” we were in his office one day and he said “excuse me, but i must leave now to make my rounds… is this correct ‘make my rounds?’ is there another expression i could use?” mcclelland says “you are making out with your patients.” dr. kim looked a little suspicious at first then i heard him teaching it to another doctor all in korean. lol!
Yes!! that’s exactly what i’m talking about. LOL.

Hey man what’s the deal for trilogy tuesday/monday? What time are we going over there to get in line and sleep over? I had hoped to post on a post a little closer to the time but you never seem to update. of course neither do I. this you working on a mac and not using messenger thing sucks I never hear from you.
