So, I’m in Kanab on a short work-related trip. I’m staying at this “apartment” that’s attached to the manufacturing facilities here where I’ll be training a few people on some software. “Apartment” is a modest name for it. It’s like a really nice condo– nicer than any of the hotels I’ve been put up in during any work-related traveling. So anyways, my phone rings at about 6:30am. I didn’t know what time it was so I just answered it, and there was no one there– just the occassional bit of static. Not sure who would call me that early in the morning, but rather than being grumpy about being woken an hour or 2 early, I’d just like to thank them for the wake-up call. The picture above is why– it was perfect timing to see the sunrise, and I have a nice view from the balcony outside my guest room. Made the trip down that much more worth it ๐
I really enjoyed the drive down, too. I have driven this route maybe once or twice before– last time I was a passenger and it was mid-day, and before that I’d only driven through in the middle of the night (on the way to Tucson or Tempe). I don’t think I had a clue what I was missing.
The sun was setting when I was about 30-40 miles north of Kanab, and it was just beautiful– the warm pinkish purple glow in the clouds on the horizon which was only partially visible as I wound through forrested hills listening to some great orchestral music. Just one of those times when you are just fully captivated by how beautiful the world is.

wow, Kanab’s like 45 minutes from where I worked last summer (which is close in that part of Utah). We used to drive there every Monday to catch the John Wayne movie for $1. Good times, man. beautiful part of the country for sure – and beautiful pic, too, btw.
Yeah, I really like southern Utah. I’ve always liked St. George, but it was nice to see some other parts. I def. need to hit Zion’s- haven’t been there in forever. Glad someone can appreciate Kanab ๐

Hehe. you just have to find an open weekend in Jesse’s schedule ๐
