The title is from one of many classic moments in the movie “The Burbs”, if you didn’t know. Definitely a show you need to watch if you haven’t seen it (and if you have seen it, you still need to watch it.)
So it actually worked.
I was driving along 12600 so. today in the dark and there was a car behind me that had just pulled onto the road– you guessed it, no headlights, though the silhouette clearly visible via the headlights behind it.
I turned on my “hazard” blinkers for a few seconds. A second after I turned them off, bing! The dude turned his/her brain on and promptly turned his/hear headlights on. I’ve tried to communicate the headlights thing once or twice in the past (so dangerous driving with out them), but haven’t ever left my hazards on that long to get the message across. It actually works– sweet.

the other night, coming home from slc, at least 3 different cars behind me flashed their brights… i have no idea why. when i got home, all my lights worked, no flat tires… maybe they weren’t flashing me
Maybe it was the guy in the back seat that was reaching up to strangle you or stab you or something… ahh I love that urban legend.
I love it when people understand what you are trying to tell them. It is horrible, I always sign to them, and then realize duh, they probably don’t understand. I have used my hazard lights as a way to signal someone, whether about lights or when someone is following me and has caught up to let them know I see them. I have never seen the burbs, so that is cool to know they do it there so more people will know what you are trying to say to them. Right on 🙂
