Jack

This picture was taken by my sister Melanie on the beach in California last week. I thought it was an awesome pic– nice job Mel ๐Ÿ™‚ Hopefully in the next month or so she’ll have her own blog to post her pics to, but until then I’ll gank ones like these for my own gratuitous posting pleasure, heh.

Last week of October already– you know what I’m thinking. Monday I went with some sibs and my cousin Em to the “Garden After Dark” I believe it was called, a little Halloween-y (hah, I said weeny) thing they’re doing up at the Red Butte Gardens in Salt Lake. It was just fun to hang out, and they “musical mayhem” guy was funny as well (the Titanic number was classic). I took some pics, don’t know if any of them turned out but hopefully I’ll get around to posting some tonight.

Ach, only a few days left till Halloween and I’ve done a downright pitiful job of watching Halloween movies. So far I’ve watched Ghostbusters and The Grudge (which was alright– not enough is left to the imagination though). I definitely need to see Boogady if possible (Heebs, any luck there?) and possibly something else if I find time / motivation, hehe. Alas, people have been putting up Christmas lights for a couple of weeks and Halloween will be gone before I know it.

Still, isn’t that picture awesome? If only my Trogdor pumpkin from last year had so much burnination goin’ on…

  1. I like your pictures.
    They are so funny.
    Anyway, What`s ‘gank’???

  2. i’m not counting on having Boogedy for Halloween, unfortunately. if you makes you feel any better, we could watch it for Thanksgiving, or Christmas perhaps?
very cool pic of the fire, BTW. nice job, Mel.

  3. Ah that’s too bad Heffe. On the bright side, we don’t have to go boogady-less– Sometime within the last year our cousins returned our VHS copy. Sure it’s mediocre quality at best, but its still Boogady, hehe. That’s right, I just grabbed the tape and tried it, it’s definitely Mr. Boogady. So, should we watch that Saturday rather than Ju-on?

  4. MiYoung–

“Gank” is a kind of slang for “grab” or “take” or “steal” (it’s not my picture, so putting it on my web site is kinda like stealing it, right?). Does that make sense?

  5. gank이라는 말은 없는데.
    들어 본적 하나도 없다. 해해해
    yank 아뇨?

heck yeah, that’s an awesome pic. and the trogdor pic is a classic. care if i put it on my blog again this year? also, how about posting a pattern for that cut out? i want to try it.

  6. oh snap. i just heard about what sounds like a great halloween fick. it’s a french film called le chien andalou which mean the dog andalou. hehe. (see my mastery of le francais?… like chris farley saying el nino was spanish for THE NINO! hehehehe.) anyway. it was co-produced by the great surrealist salvador dali and it’s most famous image is of a woman’s eye being slit with a razor blade. the cool thing is it was made in the 1920s. but it’s full of bizarre images. it’s only 20-something minutes. you can see some images and actually download the film here.

  7. YAY!! I’m glad everyone likes the pic! Hey, can I watch Boogady too??

  8. Josh– yeah feel free to gank my trogdor pumpkin pic, haha.

I think I might have seen part of that flick in my film class– bizarre stuff is good for halloween, heh.

You want me to make a cut-out for the trogdor pumpkin? Now there’s a great idea….

  9. What’s Halloween without Boogady, eh? (Well, can’t really say that – haven’t been able to watch Boogady for years now, and I’m pretty sure Halloween came and went all the same…)

  10. Thanks
Then, can I gank your Halloween picture to post on my site?

  11. Miyoung– just because you used the word “gank” correctly you can use it… wait, which picture? Hehe… the top picture is my sister’s picture ๐Ÿ™‚

    Mar–

Boogady is a classic halloween movie for me, whether I’ve been able to watch it recently or not ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. That is the coolest carving ever.
