Shawn & Kali — The Wedding (lo-fi)

So I lied. My cousin-in-law Emily Ann asked if I’d taken lots of photos at Shawn’s wedding, to which I replied in some way that I hadn’t taken any. Nay, I hadn’t brought my nice camera with me to the wedding nor the reception. But I had actually taken a few pictures (and Kate took some), but I went the lo-fi route– meaning I used a point and shoot camera instead of my SLR. I still like how the pictures I did take turned out 😀

Marianne actually did a great job of capturing the Sloanie aspect of Shawn & Kali’s wedding, so head over to her blog for some good old-fashioned crazy pills-style shenanigans (man, I kinda miss the days when we updated the crazy pills blog…

Anyways, here are the few images I did capture (or if you see me in the photo, it means Kate took it). This is far from wedding coverage– it’s more like a narrow slice of the wedding from my perspective.

Love the candid / documentary-style feel of this capture. Nevermind that Kali’s brother is totally photo-bombing an otherwise solid capture, haha.

The Unholy Alliance
The story behind the nickname: After the sealing, in the lobby of the Salt Lake Temple, our uncle Doug finds the three yet-single Sloan boys commiserating in the corner, and in his playful way, tells us that we must have some sort of unholy alliance going on– referring to the fact that we remain unashamedly single together while our youngest brother has just tied the knot, heh. His theory is that once one of us falls, all three will fall. Needless to say, we LOVED the new nickname 😀

Low-light can’t focus fast enough or capture the action FAIL. Ah well. It’s more dramatic with the motion blur 😛

It is kinda surreal to think one of the Sloan boys actually got married. Congrats Shawn & Kali!
