I came across a blog or two recently that reminded me of what my blog used to be like. I used it to document life. I was originally inspired to start a blog by the advent of digital photography and how it made it possible to publish images to the web so quickly.
Granted, I look back at most of the photos I took back then and they’re pretty lousy. The camera was decent (for a point and shoot), but I wasn’t composing or getting interesting angles or anything.
So I’m determined to get back to that. Taking pictures more frequently, and posting more frequently. This means not requiring that every picture meet some superficial standard of quality (such as being taken with a dSLR). Along with this, you’ll notice I’ve reverted to a previous blog layout. I think it’s easier to read compared to my last layout (which, while it allowed for large images in posts, was sort of unwieldy for text and navigation).
Blah blah blah, I’m sure you don’t care about this, but I do, so I’m writing it. Here’s to many more posts to come ๐ (click for more rambling about blogging)
Another reason I’m interested in blogging more is that Facebook has become too crowded. For a time it seemed like a better way to keep in touch with people, but I rarely take the time to look at someone’s wall on Facebook. A post on Facebook will disappear into oblivious within days, and unless you’re really diligent, you’ll miss a lot of posts on Facebook– a blog post will still be there. A blog is a much more personal space for sharing thoughts, likes, pictures, and so forth. I’ve never been the type who likes large groups of people… so perhaps, even in an online world, a blog suits me better than a social networking site.
So yada yada yada. Cheers to the few of you (if any) who still check in on my blog ๐

Hey, nice pic. You are almost inspiring me to attempt my iphone blog again. Its been over a year, time for another random photo of something.
A year eh? Impressive. Which iPhone do you have these days? I’m a tad envious of the camera on the iPhone 4.
