December 17 – Muti’s Birthday

Last Thursday was Muti’s birthday, and as many of the family that could gathered at the Garden Cafe at the Grand America Hotel for lunch to celebrate. Mar dressed Addie in her new Christmas dress, and so we tried to get some pictures.

Well, Addie is VERY busy these days, so she wasn’t exactly going to sit still for a nice portrait, haha. It was while trying to take her picture that I began to understand one of the real benefits of a zoom lens– my fixed 35mm lens presented some challenges with a small child who is constantly on the move. So while these images are far from perfectly framed and what not, what I did manage to capture was Addie being Addie 🙂

This is the best image I got of that pretty dress Addie was looking so adorable in.


Lately Addie is not happy in public restaurants unless she is sitting on someone’s lap and drinking their drink or eating their food (or just their ketchup… she was a big fan of Melissa’s ketchup this day, haha.)

I love this picture just because it captures how much she loves that blankey. There’s a reason Mar went and bought a spare 🙂

Kate & Addie walking to the hotel lobby hand in hand. Yeah I know the frame is tilted pretty severely… I wasn’t trying to give the image style, I was just rotating to fit everything in the frame. Again, zoom lens would have helped me here 🙂 You just have to be ready when you catch a moment like this, where Addie had dropped her blanket and was stooping to pick it up.
