Flying High

I couple more oldies that were lacking some punch. Taken on a flight to Vegas in July 2003, taken with the ol’ Powershot S40, my first digital camera, the one that got me started taking pictures ๐Ÿ™‚

My mind is otherwise a bit sluggish right now, I’m a bit tired. I just finished watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and it seems like it was one of those “love it or hate it” movies (usually people don’t like the way Wonka was portrayed by Johnny Depp). I hadn’t seen it, I don’t think, since it was in theaters. I love the soundtrack– both the score and the Oompa Loompa songs. They’re catchy, funny and convey positive messages, as does the movie itself. (I mean seriously… how many movies outright promote the value of family that aren’t aimed squarely at small children?)

Lots of great messages in the movie– a lot of them conveyed by juxtaposing different characters. I like it a lot, not sure why it took me this long to watch it again.

  1. nice.. I’m still on that series, btw. I’m up to the S70…

    1. Yeah they just revived that series by releasing the S90… supposed to be pretty sweet (nice fast f/2 lens for some shallow depth of field fun). I remember back when you first got a higher megapixel powershot than me… I was all, ahh 4 megapixels is plenty. then I saw a shot you took at a football game where you were able to crop in to look like you were pretty close to the action and I was totally jealous ๐Ÿ˜€
