A couple weeks ago I went on a photowalk that was organized by some local photographers and sponsored by a local photography company called Pictureline (the candy / toy store of photography nerds… love that place.* They had managed to procure Lensbaby lenses for over the more than 60 photographers that showed up to use. The Lensbaby is sort of a novelty / special effect lens that generally shows one area in focus and leaves the rest out of focus, and normally lets you select which part of the image is in focus. (I happened to use the wide angle adapter, so it sorta just made it so whatever was in the center as in focus).
Anyhow, we visited a collection of old cars just down the street from Pictureline. Apparently this guy just collects old cars. There were some pretty retro vehicles, I’ll post an image or two later, but for now, here’s the car I enjoyed the most– yes I love 80s pop culture, especially classics like Back to the Future.
Only about 6,500 of these DeLoreans are believed to still exist, so it was pretty cool to see one that wasn’t in Universal Studios, haha.
*Pictureline is a top-notch company. Not only is it fun to walk in there in an Apple-store kind of way, but their service is above and beyond. They’re so helpful and friendly, and they make an effort to foster a community of photographers in Utah, which I think is awesome. Great people there. I bought my camera there and other various accessories. Definitely check it out if you’re into photography at all or even if you’re thinking about getting into photography. Their main store is downtown Salt Lake City at 700s and 300w, and they now have a Draper store at about 177w and 12600s. You can even get customer service by talking to them on twitter @pictureline. For example, I had bought a plastic umbrella adapter and asked them if they had any Manfrotto metal ones, and they responded that they had them in their SLC store but could transfer some to their Draper store, which they did for me. How awesome is that?! Love that place.
