Dusk in September

Parking lot at work… September 17, 2009 – 8:03pm 35mm – f/7 – ISO 100 for 5 seconds.

I had just missed the sunset this evening, but I had my camera so I decided to capture what was left of it, first by pointing the camera towards the west. Much more interesting, though, was when I pointed it to the east, what you see in this picture. The sky looked interesting enough, but it was pretty gray to me. Normally the camera doesn’t “see” color quite as vibrantly as I remember it, and I bring the color back in post processing. This time, however, the camera saw all kinds of color that I could barely see hints of with my own eyes. Very cool! I did give this photo some punch with the contrast, but really didn’t mess with the saturation of colors, that was just what the camera saw. How interesting the sky can make an otherwise mundane scene…

    1. Haha, I thought you might appreciate that suggestion ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve heard about a possible movie for a while, and the hang up was getting Michael Serra on-board (George Michael) for it. but if he’s in now… woohoo for an Arrested Development movie!
