Centerpiece

A still-life shot from that wedding. Originally didn’t think it was that interesting, but I dunno… I like it. I was stressed enough that day that I don’t think I fully appreciated this little table setting… look at the geometric, hard, smooth, shiny surface of those candles compared to how organic that pot and flowers are… awesome contrast. Love the texture of that pot… (and somehow

I also LOVE this lens (35mm f/1.4). Thought I’d share ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m loving this photography stuff more every day.

  1. Your photography is amazing!! Just incredible. I’m trying to think of something I could have you take pics for … maybe the next time we’re in Utah we’ll have you take McDoug family pics (the guy who did it for us over July 4th was LAME. I can’t believe my mom paid him money!) Hope you’re doing well ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. tell me, is it just me, or does this centerpiece look like it’s floating? That is one smokin lense you have there, AWESOME!

Emily Ann Aldrich, who posted the comment after yours, is perhaps more skilled in the way of taking family pics– she did some for the Harringtons a while back that were just sweet. Though I wouldn’t mind taking a whack at it myself, or maybe as a team.

Ahhhh, floating centerpiece! Yeah I know you’re appreciating the goodness of fast prime lenses! Can’t wait to see some of your pics from Laner’s wedding. I did get a few decent captures, but I wish I’d had a prime mounted earlier in the day when I had a zoom instead. I need to post them…
