Spring

blossoms
This was an exercise in salvaging an uninteresting photo to try to add some interest. Not amazing, but better than it was before ๐Ÿ˜‰

I scanned back through the last year’s worth of blog entries the other day and realized that, for a change of pace, I was actually pretty good about posting semi-frequently, even if it was only to post images. I’d like to try to do such again this year, as sloanie.com enters its seventh year.

I love Spring. It’s sort of symbolic for me. It’s a time of rebirth, of things coming back to life, of refreshing and renewed energy.

I watched Wall-E for the first time this weekend. There was a message I enjoyed toward the end, where the captain of the ship has been awaken from the life of a drone to discover life away from the computer monitor. As the computer tries to tell him he can’t survive back on earth, he says “I don’t want to survive, I want to live!” The idea of living was tied to working to make the world a better place and appreciating life, not merely going through the same routine everyday in order to simply be alive. (Like the lyrics from an Anberlin song say, “There’s more to living than being alive”.) So here’s to living, appreciating life, and working to make a difference.

Life is good ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I love how if I click on the blossoms it opens up bigger in that fancy black box! Totally forgot I installed that plugin. Thanks, Em ๐Ÿ™‚
