So I get up this morning and go about the routine to get ready for the day. I look up from the john and see this on the wall in front of me:
Since I’m pretty sure you all love spiders as much as I do, I thought I’d share. What really freaks me out about these guys– I’ve seen a lot of them around the house lately– is how FAST they move. They dart, they’re dang quick. Though this guy didn’t budge. I think he *wanted* to go for a swim down the toilet.

I wasn’t messing around. I have nowhere to carry a small camera in my underwear, man. I finished my business, washed my hands, and retrieved my dSLR w/ 100mm Macro lens and tripod for this shot. I would have to get uncomfortably close to this little guy with my pocket-sized Canon SD10 to get a shot like this 😛
My co-worker tells me it’s a hobo spider, which supposedly are poisonous (and according to him, like to hang out in your clothes). I guess I’ll be shaking my clothes out before I put them on.
Have you ever heard it said that you attract what you think about? Well I was looking at videos of black widows last week on youtube, and then yesterday somehow this daddy long legs spider was crawling around on my white shirt (my home teaching companion was about to get out of my car and all of a sudden gets this surprised look on his face and points at me. That thing didn’t want to get off me!) So yeah. I think I’ve just been attracting spiders. I’m sick.
Ew, I hate spiders. Nice picture, though. You can really see all the little hairs on its legs. My first thought when I read the post was the same as Josh’s – did you have your camera with you when you went to the bathroom? lol

You guys should seriously consider having the house sprayed for spiders. That picture is going to give me nightmares.
OK. I read a document on how to identify hobo spiders. This spider has some distinct features that indicate that it is NOT a hobo spider. No worries, yo.
I do need to post another picture. This thing just gives me the willies every time I open this page.
