Sometimes for inspiration, sometimes for entertainment, and sometimes to cut through the silence in the car or at home. I like the radio on in the car, but sometimes if I can’t find just the right music playing, silence is better. I enjoy inspirational music the most, followed by music with a catchy beat. Interesting how we all have our own tastes in music. I think it’s good to like lots of diffrent kinds. Am I being verbose?
So that first one didn’t work.
Onto music: I use music for many reason. Probably as many reason as generes that I like. When I am getting ‘pumped up’ for a football game or volleyball game I love something on the hardcore side. When I am reminissing (sp) any song from that period I am thinking of. I love the primary hymns on sundays. I will ALWAYS listen to Hawaiian music. I appreciate almost all types of music. I don’t like screaming (except I like faith by limpbiskit). I even like ‘beautifu people’. but I don’t like things that are dark and gross or demeaning. But everything else is fair game.
I think the reasons soogie cited are rock solid. I also really like to listen to some artist for their verbal prowess, vivid imagery, and artistic expression. However the choice of genre/artist will be dependant upon my mood. Want to get jacked up for something, obviously thats the more hardcore/post-hardcore (you know, the stuff i say “you probably wouldn’t like it”), for relaxing some good indie/folk, to sing along to and bounce to i like pop/punk/emo, and driving, pretty much all of that, except for anything too mellow (don’t wanna fall asleep). of course i like to listen to all that stuff for various reasons other than that, but that’s kinda my norm.
Now to get verbose, Everyone must buy these 5 2007 releases:

Music: i love to listen to it when I’m cleaning. Something that gets me moving. I like to listen when I need to get happy too. Helps me get into a better mood.
The type of music I like depends on what I’m doing I think. If I’m driving I like fast upbeat music to get me going. If I have friends over to eat and hang out I put on soft music in the background – good white noise. And if I’m all alone I listen to those guilty pleasure CDs that make me smile and take me back. I think music taste is the most personal bit of a person’s life. Music and memories are so tied together. Nice survey!
