So I just figured out how early one has to arrive at work to get the first parking space.
During the last few months I’d occassionally come in at 7 so as to get some hours in before class. I could get here 5 to 7 and there’d already be about 4-5 rows of parking spots taken, yeesh. Well today I woke up at 5 (didn’t set that alarm, just woke up and couldn’t sleep), and ended up pulling in right behind someone at 6:10. Just think, if I hadn’t stopped at 7-11 for a super big gulp of sugar, I’d have been the first person in.
Dang, what is today, the 14th? I didn’t quite make it an entire month without posting…

YEESH… that’s an unearthly hour!! So when is your last final over?:
I should be done tomorrow at 5pm. Until then… ugh.
good luck. welcome back.
when i was ski instructor, i worked in the kids ski program. the first ones there got the best skiers who could already go up on the lifts. otherwise, you had to work the carpets- a small field where little kids toil all day to stand up with skis on with runny noses and non-waterproof gloves. they cry. and their parents just stand there and watch. there were usually only 1 or 2 groups of good skiers, so you had to be among the first 4 instructors to show up (2 instructors per group). we had to be there by 10, but the earlier you got there, the better group you got. my roommate and i could never be first. no matter how early we got there there was this guy kevin who beat us. well ONE morning, we beat him. we rolled in at 6:00, signed in and had to wait around for 4 unpaid hours to start work. it was worth it though to see the look on his face when he had to work the carpets all day. hahahaha.
Nothing is worth that unearthly hour. But your story, Josh, made me think of this morning. I took Shawn snowboarding, and I got him to venture away from the bunny hill (which is kinda like a big carpet). But I let him go back to the bunny hill for his last run while I went to the top mountain for a quick run, and when he got there, the once wide open little slope (earlier that morning) was littered with a bazillion kids – much like you described. That alone might’ve convinced Shawn that one needs to get away from there as soon as possible.
Hey Sloanie!
Long time no see. I just thought I’d drop you a note here and let you know I have a new blog up and running. This time I actually can put pictures on there. Yee haw. it’s: travisbutterfield.blogspot.com. Original, I know. I’m finding that the older I get, the less creative I am. So sad, so true. Oh well. I suppose in a couple of years I won’t even care, or know the difference.
p.s. your post about the Xbox 360 is amazing. I had no idea people were selling those things on eBay for so much. What a joke.
Smell ya later.
travy-poodles. Unoriginal? If it were it’d be like travisbutterfield2345819845.blogspot.com. No that does just fine– I can remember it and not need a link to go there ๐ Welcome back to the blogging world ๐
