I feel like someone cut off my middle finger

I brought my laptop in to work today to rip some mp3s and stuff while working, but didn’t bring a mouse with me. I had this Apple mouse hanging around so I plugged it in, and it works of course… but man. Talk about style over substance. On an Apple OS you can press ctrl+click to get the same effect as a right-click, but… no such thing in Windows, which obviously was made for at least a 2 button mouse.

Honestly, using this mouse and trying to navigate programs and perform usual functions on my laptop I felt like someone had cut off my middle finger. I kept having to use the file menus and stuff. “That’s so lame!” “Yeah! It’s the lamest thing I’ve ever heard!” The one button mouse is taking style and simplicity too far… Mac users say “but you can plug a 2-button mouse into a Mac and use it just fine.” So? That’s not what Apple is packing with the computers you buy from them! Hehe… /rant

  1. one of the many aspects of macs designed, in my opinion, to be “unique.” conformity rules!!!!

alas. let me tell you why i hate macs. it’s a personal grudge, actually. i needed to type a paper in college once. i needed it for my next class so i ran in the computer lab to type it up. since it was in the music school’s lab, everything was mac. no problem, i thought, since they can still run MS word. being the proficient computer user that i am (tongue in cheeky), i used the shortcut ctrl+s to save rather than clicking on the file menu. i’m an obsessive saver and clicked ctrl+s every couple of sentences. of course right at the end, the whole lab crashes. when it comes back online and i look for my paper, it only shows the first sentence. of course the reason why is because macs use a different shortcut system than windows. “open apple (whatever the hell that means)”+s. oh! MY BAD!!! sorry, mr. macintosh that i don’t “speak your language!” YOU CAN FREAKIN’ READ A PC-FORMATTED FLOPPY BUT YOU CAN’T HANDLE CTRL+S!!!???? wtf. conform to the rest of the freakin’ world.

  2. my friend you are justified in hating macs, hehe. Anyone who has only casual contact with them must.

Lately I find myself wish I had that dang apple key though. Today I wanted to copy some files and I was looking for the “option” button on my PC’s keyboard (on a Mac you hold option down and drag the files to the location you want to copy them to). Oh yeah- I have a right mouse button to copy and paste with. Man it screws with my head…
