The Zoo

I have no idea what’s up with this– one of the first things I saw at the zoo. Grilled cheese, anyone?

It’s been several years since I’ve been to the zoo. Went for the company summer party and it was surprisingly enjoyable– a change park without lines or rides, just appreciating nature and pitying the caged animals.

I took plenty of pictures, but for today I’ll just post these, from the so-called “Outback Adventure”. Sounds bigger than it is– it’s like a green house with a bunch of birds in it where you can get a stick with bird seed on it to feed the birds with.

I didn’t even try– this guy must just have been hungry, he just swooped down and landed on my hand first thing when I got in there. He sat there and ate almost the whole thing until some little whiney girl came up with like 6 sticks shoving them in the birds face trying to get him to leave me. “Look little girl, the birds just don’t like pushy girls like you.”

At one point Jeff offered his bird to a little boy that couldn’t have been more than a few years old. The bird started to pick at the little kids seed only to have the kid start trying to bat the bird with his stick. Sheesh, the violence these kids are raised on…

This describes Melissa’s visit to the “Outback Adventure”. “Toasters and birds… little pigeon turds.” Ok so it wasn’t a pigeon but she still got pooped on, hehe. They probably target people with white shirts on.
