He looks like he’s crying… awww… he misses his mommy… either that or he really doesn’t like Shawn holding him, hehe.
Oh yes, this dog will be chewing some things up, I can tell already. He’s starting with Dan’s finger…
So I guess certain siblings have been trying for some time to coerce my mother into getting a new dog for the family since Molly passed away. Dad was missing Molly a lot for various reasons… and I guess they wanted to get him a new buddy to walk with and stuff.
So today I find out that yesterday Mel and Mom had gone to look at puppies, and that today they were going get one. Viola– an adorable little yellow lab puppy.
Now Dad is talking about getting another dog from the person we got this one from– a chocolate lab puppy. Two big dogs?! The back yard isn’t so big at this house and I’m sure 2 labs would be a serious poop factory… goodbye grass… hehe.
On another note… when I saw this puppy my heart went out to it, I feel sad for it. It was just taken away from his mommy and he’s lost and bewildered right now, poor little guy. I can’t imagine what it’d be like… but I guess that’s life for dogs.
Anyways, thought I’d post some pics– I’ve been meaning to update but I’ve been quite distracted lately with miscellaneous things. This was pic worthy so I am posting, yay!
Any thoughts on names? It’s a boy, btw…
Oh, and here’s a short clip– it was hard to get a good pic of it so I shot a short video too. I shot a longer, better one but this will have to suffice for bandwidth’s sake.

Yeah– and I can’t believe my dad is serious about getting the chocolate lab puppy too. If he does we’ll be needing 2 names, and everyone has been thinking of duos of names. One suggestion was Hansel and Derek, lol. Another was Honky and Chorney, hehe… those will probably end up as nicknames anyways, heh.
Hey wait, what happened to Merry and Pippin? Or Frodo and Sam? 🙂
Those hobit names just don’t quite seem fitting for the dog(s) 😉
Though the yellow lab has a bit of a gut– we could call him Samwise.
Truthfully, I laughed when you said that the names Derek and Hansel came up. That would be so cool!
My parents just got two lab puppies – they’re at 5 months now. One is chocolate and named Bear. The small (well for a lab) black one is named Meg. You can tell my stunted brother named them. They sure are cute – even if Flannery heads for the hills (or my heels to hide behind me) when she sees them. They tend to think tackling her ON THE HEAD is cute.

well if you’re giving them Korean names I think Ddong for the brown one and Ojum for the yellow one… eh eh? Just kidding… I feel for the little gold one, I remember the first time Shawn tried to hold me too. Traumatic!
Ehehe… nice. Still thinking of names, though some of us will refer to the yellow lab as “The Cheat”. My dad really liked the name “Thor”, Josh– he wants to name then Thor and Zeus now… hmm… in any case I think they’re going to pick up the chocolate lab today.
I still think it all is verging on insanity. But you can’t deny how dang cute they are – especially when they wrestle. I like calling the yellow one The Cheat. “Hey, where’s The Cheat?” It’s funner to say sometimes than what we actually named him. 🙂
Gus and two more! dang dogs! it’s a zoo! so what did you end up naming the dogs? I am lost. if we ever get a dog, (yeah right like we’ll ever be able to afford our own house) Matt wants to name it Dammnit! Go figure!
