Why is it…

Fancy?

Here’s something for you to ponder… or not. I never thought about it before, but I was looking at some packets of McDonald’s ketchup I noticed the wording on them was “Fancy Ketchup”. Did you know that it’s “Made in U.S.A. for exclusive use by McDonald’s Restaurants…”– did you hear that, EXCLUSIVE. All this time you thought it was their fries that were so good, but no, it’s the ketchup… hehehe. Honestly, what could possibly be special let alone “Fancy” about McD’s ketchup? The restaurant itself is pretty dang far from fancy but maybe that’s just my opinion…

Here’s another random pic– there was a house or something burning one day last week, never did find out what exactly was burning but I did snap a shot from the office with my camera…

Anyways, this is about the lamest post ever, hehe. However, if you want to read something interesting and see some pretty nice pics, miraculously Heeble has updated his home page– He got back from New York Saturday night around midnight, was home Sunday, and moved his stuff to Provo on Monday and went back to work. That’s a pretty small window of time there and he posted 3 or 4 entries for the first few days of his trip to NY– and has some great pics, if you like photoblogs (which I do). Needless to say, I’m impressed– thanks Heeble.

  1. it is the amazing blend of spices and seasonings that makes their ketchup so wonerfully fancy. at least i know how much i look forward to getting all dressed up and eating mcdonalds with some fancy ketchup. and as long as you couldn’t hear anyone screaming then it probably wasn’t a serious fire. that or they were all already dead, either way it didn’t happen to you. =)

  2. wow. i never get over how blue the sky is in Utah. maybe you guys out there don’t think anything of it, but it’s a lot paler blue than the east coast. i guess the humidity does something.

    btw, was that my megan?

also, quick story about burning things. in high school we moved, and behing our house about 500 yds, obscured by woods, was a super run-down trailor park. as we were moving in we started hearing people yelling ‘fire!’ we looked over and we could see flames above the trees, but obviously a trailor had lit up. well, that lasted 15-20 minutes, then nothing. no more yelling, no more fire. the fire trucks never even showed up! i always wondered what happened over there.

  3. Hehe, nice. Let’s enlighten people as to what that amazing blend of spices and seasonings is:

Tomato concentrate from red ripe tomatos (I guess other companies don’t use ripe or red tomatos, huh?), distilled vinegar, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, water, salt, natural flavors.

Ah, it must all be in the natural flavors eh? Indeed Megan I look forward to that gourmet-fest that is McDonalds myself, hehe.

That’s pretty crazy, that trailer park fire, hehe. I heard there’s a huge fire burning in Canada– but I don’t watch the news to I wouldn’t know for sure, 😮

  4. I now think “Fancy” may be a reference to the little packet the Ketchup comes in. I was given some “Fancy Ketchup” today from Ruber River at lunch– though this stuff is Henize ketchup, distributed by Sysco– not exclusive but more common, yet it’s still “Fancy Ketchup”. 😮
